Welcome to our website. The Rape Counselling and Resource Centre (RCRC) offers free and confidential support to anyone aged 13+ who has experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. If this has happened to you, then you can contact our centre. We offer ongoing support, either face-to-face appointments or through our telephone helpline. When you contact us, our workers will:

• Listen to you
• Believe you
• Support you

We can also provide support to family members, friends, partners and workers to help them better understand how your experience of sexual violence has affected you.

We are committed to promoting equality and valuing the diversity of anyone who is a survivor of sexual violence, whether you are a woman, girl, man, boy or have another gender identity.

RCRC is committed to challenging gender-based violence

Sexual violence is one of many forms of gender-based violence and includes domestic abuse, childhood sexual abuse, forced marriage, stalking and prostitution for example. Gender-based violence is caused by gender inequality, which means that it affects mainly women and girls, but can also affect men and boys and those with other gender identities. We aim to challenge society’s tolerance of sexual violence and gender inequality and offer a service response that is sensitive to gender differences and needs.

We aim to empower people who have survived sexual violence to make their own choices and gain back control of their lives.
